Since weight loss is not one-size-fits-all, we offer several treatment modalities at St. Rita’s Weight Management Center.

Behavior is the hardest thing to change! Here at St. Rita’s, we have implemented a program called Naturally Slim to assist you to adapt your eating behaviors for lifelong success.

What is the Naturally Slim Program?

The Naturally Slim program is a mindful eating approach that focuses on eating sensibly and paying close attention to hunger. A key message for the Naturally Slim Program is: “It’s Not a Diet, It’s a Lifestyle.” Naturally Slim stresses the need to keep eating simply. The emphasis is on moderation, mindful eating and awareness of how nutrition affects health. The program provides individuals with an eating management plan that you can carry with you for a lifetime and to be more comfortable around food. The Naturally Slim program is a ten-week online course plus reinforcement and maintenance support throughout the remainder of the year. The course is completed by regular follow-up visits with us at St. Rita’s Weight Management Center. This a is a good program for someone who may need more reinforcement during the weight loss process. Each week you will watch a video and apply the principles that are taught while maintaining thoughts and intake in a specially designed journal. This program also positively impacts health, including diabetes, obesity, cardiac health and metabolic syndrome.

The Naturally Slim program begins with a ten-week online course to teach you the core principles of the program. After the first ten weeks, you will have regular follow-up visits with us at St. Rita's Weight Management Center along with additional online lessons to help you learn how to maintain your new skills long-term.

Metabolic syndrome is a common precursor to serious medical diseases affecting 1 in 4 adults. We test for the syndrome with simple blood tests. If you are not sure if you have metabolic syndrome, see our page on excess weight and health risks.

Some principles taught during the 10 week Naturally Slim course include:

  • The fundamentals of how to lose weight while eating all foods
  • An explanation of hidden sugars and the impact sugar in our diet
  • Exploration of the role of nutrition, protein, and carbohydrates

This treatment is combined with activity in our fitness center. All of our patients are introduced to fitness and encouraged to participate in physical activity.
