William

William

William was very unhealthy and wanted to change. The surgery assisted the impulse to eat. Now he can walk by junk food without feeling an urge to make an unhealthy choice. He goes to the gym now 3 to 4 times a week and is not embarrassed about working out in front of others. He used to schedule his workouts late at night, so he wasn’t in the crowd feeling embarrassed. The feeling of embarrassment has vanished for William. The support team helps you through the good times and the difficult times.

Megan

Megan

Megan knew she had to make a lifestyle change. She has been on an amazing journey weighing less than she did in high school. She looks at food in a completely different way and realizes the consequences of bad food choices. She has to make the choice every day to stay on a healthy path. The classes empower and encourage her to stay moving in the right direction. She has worked really hard for this positive lifestyle change. Stressors- full-time student, job, family it all adds up and food was an outlet.

Jeff

Jeff

Jeff was on the verge of going to Dayton, and then he heard St. Rita’s was starting a Weight Management Program. He was eager to sign up and was one of the first on the list for a seminar session. He preferred to stay local and has greatly appreciated the continued support through the entire process. Pre-surgery he received suburb guidance from Joyce, Becky and they team. They were very thorough and upfront with details that added to Jeff’s comfort level before surgery. If you follow the program presented by the weight management team Jeff feels an individual should not have an issue dropping weight. Abe has also been a tremendous support and assisted in creating an appropriate and attainable fitness plan for Jeff. He is moving all the time and is disappointed if he doesn’t hit his goal of 10,000-12,000 steps/day. He went from 8 meds to 2 meds for his blood pressure. He is 60 but feels like a 40-year-old. Size 50 pants to a 38- BMI 48 down to 31.

Jeff is just getting started there isn’t a finish line it takes effort and a mindset to stay healthy! His Grandson used to comment on his belly, and now he asks where it’s gone. Spending time with his grandchildren is a great joy, and now he feels good enough to have the energy to keep up!

Hollie

Hollie

Hollie attended the seminar and decided now or never. Best decision of her life. Hollie received support through every step of the way! She was tired of being chronically tired from the weight. She was letting the weight take over, and it was slowly killing her. The first 50 lbs. was an eye-opening experience since she would wake up and actually have the energy to feel like doing something. She woke up being able to be active. She realized that prior to surgery she didn’t have the stamina for hiking, water sports, or gardening. Now Hollie is kayaking with her husband throughout the summer and fall. She can enjoy what she truly is passionate about rather than being tired and not having the energy or self-confidence to take part.

This has been her biggest blessing- Joyce, Becky and Dr. Dunkle-Blatter assisted in getting Hollie to a place with her weight management where she can live her life the way she wants! She is now excited to get up and face her day. This program has been a Godsend, and it has been a phenomenal journey. She stepped out of fear and into her life.

She makes the choice every day to stay healthy!
